Endless Melancholy – Fragile Endless Melancholy is the brainchild of Ukrainian musician Oleksiy Sakevych and if one thing, you can be sure that Sakevych knows how to title his project and albums when the falling piano notes of opener “Whereever” hit you. And it is with this lack of place and the idea of melancholy much of Fragile can be explained. Sakevych draws much of his musical credo from the darker sides of emotion, with the dichotomy of happy/sad of melancholy still imbued. His piano compositions, accompanied by cello, viola and sometimes even drums are a gaze into the distance, or the expression of nostalgia as Sakevych himself alluded. 19. Run The Jewels – Angel Duster (Run The Jewels 2) Run The Jewels know how to go out on a high note. I should have chosen the closer of the debut over the banger of the second track in 2013. El-P and Killer Mike conclude bleak and pessimistic: The world is not a nice place and we tend to forget all the forces that control us. Therefore rely on yourself and your own mind. "I kill my masters / I mentor none".  18. Rainer Veil – Three Day Jag (New Brutalism) Rainer Veil gave the gift of another EP this year. A set of confined delayered instrumentals drawing from dark wave and drum and bass. Three Day Jag moves gravely, more as a decrease then a increase as the high tide is muffled and distant but still manages to digress from the introduced tranquility into a nerve wrenching irritation. 17. Top Albums 2015 Part I 55–41

55. Flo Morrissey – Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful Nostaglia is a huge deal in folk-music. My mental image most of the time involves someone old, pained and beautifully ridden by life´s playful banter. Breaking this image, many young artists are emerging with huge success, bringing in their own nostalgia, one that is not restaurative anymore, but of the more beautiful kind: of the reflective. Flo Morrissey record is there fittingly titled Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful . As every track here conveys the feeling of looking back, a dreamful resistance against the contemporary, this kind of nostalgia somehow haunts you forward, towards a tomorrow and a different, if not even idealistic world where love, longing and believing still hold true against the world. It´s not “Once I was young, and the world was full of wonder”, it´s “I´m young, I want to dream”. Very Deafheaven indeed.
